Herrenberg is the name of the town where our company has its headquarters. This is where it all started, when Erna Schmidt, the owner of the Fridolin company as it is today, was recovering in hospital. Looking for something to keep her occupied while lying in her hospital bed, she hit on the idea of making cuddly toys. When she left the hospital the idea for the first toys from Fridolin was already firmly established. That was in 1984.
The stuffed toy animals were originally brought to the Christmas markets for which Germany is so famous. They were an immediate hit, and many were the children delighted to find these beautiful hand-crafted toys under their Christmas trees. When the time came to get things ready for the 1986 Christmas markets, they decided instead to open a proper shop.
More and more products, hand-crafted cuddly toys were introduced that were bought by men and women of all ages. Now, the company that started life as a family business employs a staff of more than 30, and the 700-plus articles in their range sell on other continents as well. Fridolin has been successful in carrying some small amount of joy out into the world, and bringing a touch of gladness to the eyes of children, young people and adults.[:de]

Die Stadt in der die Firma Fridolin ihren Sitz hat, heißt Herrenberg. Es ist eine süddeutsche Kleinstadt, am Rande des Schwarzwaldes, die in grünes Wald- und Hügelland eingebettet liegt. Hier hat auch alles begonnen. Und zwar damit, dass die Gründerin der heutigen Firma Erna Schmidt, die Folgen eines Verkehrsunfalls im Krankenhaus auskurieren musste. Deshalb suchte sie sich eine Beschäftigung, die mit dem Krankenbett vereinbar war: Stofftiere nähen. Leider zog sich der Krankenhausaufenthalt länger hin, doch auf diese Weise entstand auch – ganz nebenbei – eine kleine Familie von süßen Stofftieren.
Als dann die Entlassung aus dem Krankenhaus anstand, war die Idee für die ersten Spielwaren von Fridolin bereits geboren. Man schrieb das Jahr 1984. In der Folge fanden Fridolins Stofftiere zuerst ihren Weg auf die romantischen deutschen Weihnachtsmärkte, wo sie viel Interesse fanden und manchem Kind den Gabentisch verschönen durften. Dann kamen auch andere Märkte im Jahr hinzu. Als es dann wieder gegolten hätte, die Weihnachtsmärkte für das Jahr 1986 vorzubereiten, entschlosst sich die Firma, statt dessen ein Ladengeschäft zu eröffnen. Das Sortiment von den Stofftieren wuchs erfreulich schnell und fand zahlreiche Abnehmer und Abnehmerinnen aller Altersklassen. Dies bewog Fridolin zu der Entscheidung, als weiteren Schritt in der Firmenentwicklung, eine eigene Produktionsfirma ins Leben zu rufen. Dies geschah im Jahr 1991 und liegt nun auch schon mehr als 15 erfolgreiche Jahre zurück. Damals began die Firma damit, ihre Produktpalette, auch an andere Läden in Deutschland auszuliefern.
In Frühjahr 1996 entschiedet sich Fridolin deshalb in großzügigere Firmenräume umzuziehen. Dies gab ihn auch die Möglichkeit, den Vertrieb auf mehrere europäische Länder auszuweiten. Inzwischen schreiben wir das Jahr 2006, der ehemalige Familienbetrieb, beschäftigt inzwischen über 30 Mitarbeiter und unser gut 700 Artikel umfassendes Sortiment, wird nun auch auf anderen Kontinenten angeboten. Es ist uns gelungen ein wenig Freude hinaus zu tragen in die Welt, um Kindern, Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen ein kleines Lächeln in die Augenwinkel zu zaubern.

弗多林（Fridolin）创立于1985年，在德国一个小小的城市——海伦贝格（Herrenberg)，位于黑森林旁边。从一开始主要生产自家玩具到后来跟德国不同著名的艺术家合作，制作手動音樂鈴。当中有莫扎特，贝多芬的《致愛麗絲》，柴可夫斯基的《天鹅湖》等经典名曲。另外，有不同当代流行曲，例如粉红豹，表演者（The Entertainer），老麦克唐纳有个农场等等。

Peu de temps a passé que les jouets ont commencé à être vendus à d’autres endroits tout au long de l’année. Le premier magasin a ouvert dans le centre-ville en octobre 1986.
De plus en plus de produits ont été introduits dans la gamme Fridolin, gagnant l’affection des enfants de tous les âges. L’année 1991 a été celle de la fondation de la société Fridolin, qui est toujours en expansion et approvisionne divers pays, tant en Europe que sur d’autres continents.

I prodotti Fridolin sono un’armoniosa combinazione tra arte, giocattoli, regali e design innovativi, per questo motivo Fridolin non è rilegato solamente a negozi specializzati in giocattoli, articoli di cancelleria o da regalo, ma lo si può trovare anche nei principali musei di tutto il mondo.
Herrenberg è la città natale di Fridolin; si tratta di una pittoresca cittadina circondata da boschi e colline all’inizio della Foresta Nera. Tutto iniziò qui, quando la fondatrice del marchio, Erna Schmidt, per motivi di salute venne ricoverata per un lungo periodo in ospedale. Non essendo un amante dell’ozio, Erna trovò subito il modo di occupare il tempo mentre si trovava nel letto d’ospedale: iniziò a confezionare animaletti di pezza. Quando lasciò l’ospedale l’idea di creare giocattoli Fridolin divenne subito realtà.
Inizialmente i giocattoli Fridolin venivano venduti nei bellissimi mercatini di natale tedeschi. Furono subito un successo e i bambini ne andavano pazzi. Passò poco tempo che i giocattoli iniziarono ad essere venduti anche in altre sedi durante tutto l’anno. Il primo negozio aprì in centro città nell’ottobre del 1986.
Sempre più prodotti vennero introdotti nella gamma Fridolin, conquistando l’affetto dei bambini di tutte le età. 1991 è l’anno in cui venne fondata la compagnia Fridolin, la quale è tutt’ora in espansione e rifornisce diversi paesi, sia in Europa che in altri continenti.
La Fridolin è lieta di portare un pizzico di gioia in giro per il mondo e illuminare il volto dei più piccoli, dei giovani e degli adulti.
